Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a torrid season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after March of that year.
Victory also signifies he has won 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the last five games to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.
Moutet defended 4 initial chances in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
